What Are Non-Refundable Containers?

You might be wondering what containers can’t be returned — they include: non-beverage containers, any containers purchased outside of Alberta, and a small percentage of non-registered beverage containers.

This includes all blue bin items:

  • Glass jars
  • Soup cans
  • Cooking oils containers
  • Laundry detergent containers
  • Soaps and body wash containers
  • Food containers
  • Yogurt Cups (YOP and Danactiv are accepted)
